Extended surface heat exchangers improve heat transfer area and performance by increasing the surface area of the tubes
The surface area of bare tubes can be extended by machining grooves into the outside of tubes or tightly fitting fins or wires over the tubes.
While Fluid Dynamics can supply a full range of extended surface tubes and complete finned tube heat exchangers, we proudly represent Sterling Thermal Technology who manufacture cutting edge finned tubes with their patented process which involves friction fitting engineered fin strips over the tubes. Amongst a number of benefits, this process ensures tubes of any wall thickness can be finned without their important inner wall being compromised.
