Check Valve

A check valve, also called non-return valve, reflux valve, retention valve, foot valve or one-way valve, normally allows fluid to flow through it in one direction only. There are various types of check valves but basically, they have two port valves and two openings in the body, one for fluid to enter and the other for fluid to leave. Check valves are often part of common household items. Although available in a range of sizes, check valves generally are small, simple, and inexpensive. Most check valves work automatically and are not controlled by any external control such as a valve handle or stem.
