Heat Exchangers for Waste Heat Recovery
Fluid Dynamics understands Waste Heat Recovery and its importance in capturing waste heat from exhaust systems and other sources that would otherwise be wasted to atmosphere particularly in present environment of rising temperatures and increasing operating costs.
Our Waste Heat Recovery Units (WHRU) generally recover heat from a hot gas such as exhaust gas from a gas turbine or an engine or a waste gas from industry or refinery. and transfers it to a working medium such as water, oil or air.
Big systems with high volume and high temperature gas streams can benefit from Steam Rankine Cycle (SRC) in a WHRU. The recovery of heat from low temperature systems mat require different working fluids than steam.
An Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) Waste Heat Recovery Unit can be more efficient at low temperature range using refrigerant that boils at lower temperatures than water. Typical organic refrigerants are Ammonia, Toluene and Pentafluoropropane (R-245fa and R-245ca).
